Three things that seem unrelated: birds flying against the wind without broken wings, the flame that passes through smoke without extinguishing, and the light that settles upon the landscape without consuming it. Perhaps it is the same force of adaptation — the art of bending what resists. The wind that presses becomes support, the smoke that darkens turns transparent, the light that fades in truth reveals. Perhaps the secret lies in the capacity not to oppose, but to acquiesce to the direction of the flow, letting resistance become vehicle. Nature does not fight the wind, it rides it; the flame does not flee the smoke, it traverses it; the light does not destroy the landscape, it reveals it. Perhaps it is a law of living optics: what seems obstacle is truly medium.
