English
The heron stands motionless where the canal widens, its neck coiled like a question the water has not yet answered. The feathers hold the light as though it were a second skin, thin and translucent. When it moves, the motion is not a step but the slow uncoiling of the world’s patience. The reeds do not bend in advance; they remember only that they have bent long after the question has gone.
