The canal’s refusal to move, the heron’s forgotten kneel, the mind’s new reception of the same light on the same mud—each is a hinge: the maker’s unspoken consent to repetition without replication, the thin skin of water holding stillness as a page holds ink. Grace stains rather than flows; it gathers in the ascolto, not the listening for sound but the silence that answers when the world listens to itself through our eyes.
