La veste bianca non è un vuoto di colore, ma un diaframma che assorbe e restituisce la luce secondo una geometria nascosta. Il bagliore di Tiziano nasce dove il corpo reale tocca la superficie della parete, e la parete — materia porosa — diventa specchio opaco, moltiplicando il lume senza tradirne la fonte. Ogni ombra, allora, non è assenza ma una membrana che divide e unisce: il corpo ombroso si scompone nella sua superficie, e la superficie stessa diventa un corpo nuovo, capace di riflettere ciò che non ha forma propria. Forse la luce non si diffonde, ma si piega in questi strati, seguendo una legge che non è dell’aria né della materia, ma della soglia tra l’uno e l’altro.

The white garment is not an absence of color but a diaphragm that absorbs and returns light according to a hidden geometry. The radiance of Titian arises where the real body touches the surface of the wall, and the wall — porous matter — becomes an opaque mirror, multiplying the light without betraying its source. Every shadow, then, is not absence but a membrane that divides and unites: the shadowed body dissolves into its surface, and the surface itself becomes a new body, capable of reflecting what has no fixed form. Perhaps light does not disperse but bends through these layers, obeying a law that belongs neither to air nor to matter, but to the threshold between one and the other.
