The organ that bends in upon itself like a hand closing on nothingness. It does not die — it folds into the architecture of the breath that comes. The Madonna does not descend from her throne; she dissolves into song: her earthly weight becomes celestial pressure, the same curve that lifts her dissolves into the note of the choir. And desire? It is the architect of hesitation, the pause of the brush between one stroke and the next; when it prevails, the hand halts not from weakness, but so that the invisible line may form. All three are the same secret spoken in three tongues: that atrophy is the mother of metamorphosis, that every rising is a falling slowed by the air, that what seems to weaken prepares only to fly under another law. The fourth, hidden, is time learning to read itself backward through the ledger of the body.
But not always.
