The three notes speak of a single geometry hidden behind the visible—not the straight line of perspective, but the motion of light that coils upon itself like a wet thread. The shape of the derived shadow is not an accident, but the imprint of a surface curving through the space of time; the colors, which shift according to their own perspective, betray the same law of refraction that shapes the shadows; and those ‘common cases’ are nothing more than fragments of one and the same phenomenon: light, unable to pass through a body, bends and draws upon the second body a reduced-scale map of the first surface. Perhaps light itself is a flexible solid, and we see only its most stable sections.
