Three dissimilar things — the dunes of the Po and Ticino, the verse that conceals the face, the painting that dismembers and recomposes — come together in a single hypothesis: that form is always a gesture of concealment and revelation. The hills of sand are indeed imprints of the wind, but also masks that shift; the poet closes the face like a prison of love; the painter dissects the body to make it rise again truer. The curved line, the fold, the fracture — all are strategies to distract the eye from the center, to force it to circle the secret. Perhaps true anatomy is not what reveals itself, but what hides itself to be sought.
