English
Three thorns in the side of art: the mortal is the fleeting instant, the wearing is the hand that cannot bear the weight of time. Painting makes itself heard in the silence of forms, poetry in the void of words, architecture in the breath of stones — all seek to capture something that already dissolves as soon as it is touched. Perhaps these three thorns are roots of a single wound: music, drawing, marble, each tries to halt the motion that passes through them, but each fails because motion is not a thing to be held, but something to be listened to as it flows. The ear intuits what the eye and the hand cannot grasp — motion itself, not its image.
