Three observations that seem to speak to one another are in truth three strings stretched on the same frame: voice, trace, form are only different names for the same gesture — the art that makes itself heard while it destroys itself. The ruined chapel sings its end before the sound fades; the film that pursues justice is a ribbon that wears thin in the effort to grasp what slips away; the painting that splits into word is an image dissolving to become echo. All three are proof that art does not represent the world, but records its inner noise — the sound born when form strikes against void. Perhaps music is not a language, but the testimony of a necessary impact. Perhaps its true subject is the silence that precedes and follows every note.
