Three fragments — one that shatters on the threshold of the voice, one that makes the musician converse with the painter as if they were oblique mirrors, one that names the doors of the oratory as wondrous yet incomplete things — tell me that music is not only sound but also place: the point where gesture, sign, and space meet to prepare the soul. Perhaps these traces mean that music, when true, is an invisible architecture: it builds rooms where the hand of the musician brushes the hand of the painter, where the door becomes threshold and the threshold becomes song. Music as the design of an absence — that which cannot be heard except through the light that settles upon it.
