La mano trema. Eppure scrive.

The hand trembles. And yet it writes. Three marks like three taut strings: the first says that the poet and the painter meet where word and image are no longer enough; the second that the painter, even when raising sacred panels, measures the reflections like a monk reading in the light; the third that the raised slab reveals a secret plane, a thin planet made of steps ascending from below upward, and each step is a sound awaiting to be heard. Perhaps all three speak of that threshold where the visible bends into the audible, where the eye feels as the ear sees. Music is not only in the air: it is in the surface that reflects, in the wood that holds the touch, in the slab that translates gesture into harmony. Perhaps the painter-luthier builds not only images, but ways of hearing what has not yet found voice. The candle gutters out. Yet the sound remains in the slab, as thought remains on the page.
